This training module introduces first responders, healthcare providers, and other community professionals to the principles and practices of harm reduction. This module aims to reduce bias associated with opioid reversal medication. The course defines harm reduction as a continuum of evidence-based strategies that reduce risks associated with substance use and other behaviors, emphasizing survival, dignity, and incremental change. Participants will learn about practical harm reduction strategies that have reduced disease spread and fatalities in response to public health concerns. The module also addresses common myths, highlights the role of prevention, and underscores the benefits of harm reduction for individuals, families, professionals, and communities. The goal is to equip participants with knowledge and skills to keep people alive, reduce stigma, and foster safety and trust that open pathways to recovery
