Full course description
Following this presentation, the student will be able to : 1. Describe the pathophysiologic patterns associated with a decrease in organ perfusion. 2. Define stroke volume as it relates to preload, afterload and contractility. 3. Identify the three main organ systems that contribute to tissue oxygenation. 4. Demonstrate knowledge of the use of the Fick calculation. 5. Describe the factors in maintaining preload. 6. Identify factors associated with afterload. 7. Explain the use of a CVP. 8. Compare and contrast when to use a CVP vs a Swan Ganz Catheter.
