Full program description
This initiative is a collaboration between partners across the state to create a training module for CHWs that will provide baseline knowledge of emergency preparedness and response in Texas. CHWs that complete the training module will be rostered and have their information provided to local preparedness and response officials. This includes but not limited to local health departments, local emergency management, Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Units, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTS) and organizations that are a part of the Texas Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) network. Through these efforts, it is the goal to have CHWs better integrated into local preparedness and response activities around the State of Texas.
